Role 01Event Management

Lead Curator

You Run the Show. We Handle the Platform.

The Lead Curator is the single point of operational ownership for the entire event. You are the person Caterer's Canvas trusts to coordinate the Artist pickup, manage the equipment package, and lead the Expediter team through a flawless execution.

Think of the role as a General Manager for a pop-up private restaurant. The Artist cooks the food in their kitchen. You bring the kitchen — and the entire front-of-house — to the client's home or venue.

Requirements

  • Reliable personal transportation capable of hauling equipment
  • Background check ($30 one-time fee)
  • Lead Curator agreement & handbook completion

Uniform Standard

All-black formal: blazer required. Dress shoes. Lead Curators represent the Caterer's Canvas brand directly to the client.

Core Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Artist restaurant pickup — confirm timing, quantities, and packaging
  • Transport and manage the Paint Package (linens, plates, glassware, equipment)
  • Arrive on-site 90 minutes before guest arrival for complete setup
  • Brief and direct the Expediter team for the event
  • Manage full event flow — course pacing, kitchen-to-table communication, issue resolution
  • Serve as primary point of contact for the client throughout the event
  • Execute post-event breakdown and submit the event completion report

Role 02Guest Experience

Expediter

The White-Glove Experience Starts With You.

Expediters are the front-line of the guest experience. Your job is to ensure that every guest at a Caterer's Canvas event feels like they are dining in a five-star private room — from the moment they sit down to the final course.

You work under the direct oversight of a Lead Curator who manages the full event logistics. Your role is singularly focused: deliver exceptional, attentive, white-glove service from arrival to breakdown.

Requirements

  • Prior service industry or hospitality experience preferred
  • Background check ($30 one-time fee)
  • Expediter agreement & handbook completion

Uniform Standard

All-black: dress shirt or blouse, tailored trousers, polished shoes. No logos, no sneakers, no casual wear.

Core Responsibilities

  • Arrive 60 minutes before guest arrival for setup
  • Work directly under Lead Curator direction throughout the event
  • Execute white-glove table service — food delivery, beverage management, course pacing
  • Maintain full uniform standards throughout the event
  • Manage guest requests with discretion and professionalism
  • Assist with post-event cleanup and equipment breakdown

Role 03Entertainment

DJ

Set the Atmosphere. Own the Room.

DJs from the Caterer's Canvas Collective curate and mix live sets tailored to each event's vibe and guest profile. From cocktail hour lounge to after-dinner energy, you own the sonic identity of the event.

You collaborate directly with the Lead Curator on set timing, and with clients on preferred genres, must-play songs, and do-not-play lists.

Requirements

  • Professional DJ setup (own equipment required)
  • Background check ($30 one-time fee)
  • Portfolio or demo mix required at application

Uniform Standard

Smart casual or formal — confirmed per event brief. Must be clean, professional, and brand-aligned.

Core Responsibilities

  • Consult with client pre-event on music direction and playlist curation
  • Arrive and set up equipment 60 minutes before guests arrive
  • Execute a seamless live DJ set aligned with event timeline and mood
  • Coordinate transitions (cocktail hour → dinner → dancing) with Lead Curator
  • Manage volume levels appropriate to venue and event type
  • Break down and remove all equipment post-event

Role 04Aesthetics & Design

Event Designer

Transform Spaces. Bring the Visual Vision to Life.

Event Designers from the Collective take the physical space and transform it into a curated environment that complements the culinary and service experience. From tablescapes to florals to bespoke décor, you execute the visual concept.

Designers work closely with clients during pre-event consultations and arrive early to complete installation before guests arrive.

Requirements

  • Portfolio of prior event design work required
  • Background check ($30 one-time fee)
  • Own vehicle for transporting décor materials

Uniform Standard

Business casual or event-appropriate — confirmed per event brief.

Core Responsibilities

  • Pre-event consultation with client on aesthetic direction and design concept
  • Source and assemble all décor, florals, and tablescaping elements
  • Arrive 90–120 minutes before guests for full installation
  • Coordinate with Lead Curator to ensure design complements the overall event flow
  • Photograph completed installation for the event record
  • Break down and remove all design elements post-event

Role 05Beverage Service

Mixologist / Bartender

Craft the Experience. Command the Bar.

Mixologists and bartenders from the Collective run the beverage program at Caterer's Canvas events — from pop-up bars at private residences to full premium bar setups at estate events.

You work with clients pre-event on signature cocktail creation and are responsible for setup, service, and full bar breakdown.

Requirements

  • Bartending certification or equivalent professional experience
  • Background check ($30 one-time fee)
  • Responsible alcohol service certification preferred

Uniform Standard

All-black professional or event-specific brief. Neat, tidy, consistent with the event standard.

Core Responsibilities

  • Pre-event consultation on signature cocktail and mocktail menu
  • Set up bar station 60 minutes before guests arrive
  • Execute bar service from cocktail hour through the event close
  • Manage guest requests and maintain bar presentation standards
  • Monitor responsible service protocols throughout the event
  • Break down and inventory all bar stock post-event

Role 06Visual Documentation

Photographer

Capture Every Course. Every Toast. Every Moment.

Photographers from the Caterer's Canvas Collective document events with a professional eye for food, ambiance, and human connection. You capture the culinary artistry, the event design, and the moments that clients will share for years.

Work is delivered as a curated, edited gallery within 5 business days.

Requirements

  • Professional camera equipment (own gear required)
  • Portfolio of event or food photography required
  • Background check ($30 one-time fee)

Uniform Standard

Understated professional — dark tones preferred. Must blend into the event environment.

Core Responsibilities

  • Pre-event walkthrough of the space and shot list alignment with client
  • Arrive 30 minutes before guests for setup and ambient/décor shots
  • Capture food courses, table service, guests, and key moments
  • Coordinate with Lead Curator for timing on key event milestones
  • Deliver edited gallery within agreed timeline (typically 5 business days)

Got a Unique Hospitality Skill? We Want to Hear From You.

The Specialist category is open to hospitality professionals whose skills don't fit neatly into the above roles — sommeliers, live entertainment acts, event technicians, floral specialists, calligraphers, custom experience vendors, and more.

Requirements

  • Portfolio or proof of specialist expertise required
  • Background check ($30 one-time fee)
  • Role agreement specific to your Specialist category

  • Arrive as specified and set up any required materials or equipment
  • Maintain the Caterer's Canvas standard of professionalism throughout the event
