Everything you need to know about Caterer's Canvas — for clients, restaurant partners, and Collective event professionals.

For Clients
What exactly is Caterer's Canvas?

Caterer's Canvas is a full-service catering and event platform that connects clients with elite culinary artists (restaurants), a full professional event team (The Collective), and all the logistics needed to host a five-star private or corporate event — anywhere you gather.

What types of events do you support?

We support a wide range of events: private dinners, birthday celebrations, corporate lunches and dinners, client entertainment, holiday parties, staff appreciation events, retreats, and recurring office catering programs. Events can accommodate 200+ guests.

How does booking work?

Browse available culinary artists, select your service tier, customize your event with add-ons from The Palette (bar packages, dessert bars, photography, day-of coordination, and more), then confirm your booking with a 20% deposit. Full payment is required if your event is within 72 hours.

Do I need to be at a venue, or can you come to my home?

Both. Our team can execute events at private residences, corporate offices, partner venues, and most event spaces. We also offer Venue Sourcing through The Palette if you need us to find the perfect space.

Who handles the logistics on event day?

Our Lead Curator manages the full event — coordinating food pickup from the restaurant, managing the equipment, briefing the service team, and overseeing the event from arrival to breakdown. You focus on your guests.

What if I need to cancel or modify my booking?

Modifications made more than 72 hours before the event are handled without a surcharge. Changes within 72 hours may be subject to a rush modification fee. Cancellation policies are outlined at checkout.

For Restaurant Partners
Who qualifies to become a partner?

We partner with established restaurants, gourmet markets, and culinary studios that produce high-quality food. Our pre-qualification process reviews your restaurant background and culinary profile before approving your application.

What do I have to do as a partner?

Your role is to cook the food. You prepare orders in your own kitchen, exactly as you would for in-house service. Our Lead Curator team handles pickup, transport, and all event-day logistics — you never leave your kitchen.

Is there a cost to join the platform?

Partnership tiers are available at different levels of engagement and tool access. Specific pricing is discussed during the application process. Apply on our Partner page to get started.

Can I control which events I accept?

Yes. You receive notifications for incoming event requests and confirm based on your capacity and availability. There is no obligation to accept every booking.

What tools do you provide?

Your Artist dashboard includes AI menu description generation, AI-powered storefront image creation, B2B lead generation tools, growth suite analytics, and client booking management — all in one place.

For The Collective
What roles are available in the Collective?

We recruit Lead Curators, Expediters, DJs, Event Designers, Mixologists/Bartenders, Photographers, and Specialists. Each role plays a distinct part in delivering the Caterer's Canvas event experience.

Do I need prior hospitality experience?

For most roles, prior experience is strongly preferred. Lead Curators and Expediters should have service industry or event management backgrounds. DJs, Designers, and Photographers need a portfolio. Specialists are reviewed case-by-case.

Is a background check required?

Yes, all Collective members must complete a background check before being activated. You can either upload an existing government-issued background check (subject to admin review) or complete one through the platform via Stripe Identity — a one-time $30 fee.

How does pay work?

Collective members earn competitive flat rates per event. Pay is processed directly through the platform on a predictable schedule. All payout details are provided during onboarding.

Am I an employee or independent contractor?

All Collective members are independent contractors (1099). There are no minimum booking requirements — you accept only the gigs that work for your schedule.

How do I get access to events?

Once your background check is cleared and onboarding is complete, you gain access to the Professional Bid Board — a live marketplace of upcoming events. You can browse gigs by date, location, pay rate, and event type, and accept what fits you.
